Walk for Literacy – let’s build a library for kids in Zimbabwe

The Walk for Literacy aims to fundraise to build a library for the students of Musukwi Primary School. Earlier this year Chicago, Illinois Librarian, Heather McCarthy, visited Zimbabwe and saw first hand the basic conditions that the children experience every day. This school is in one of the poorest regions in Zimbabwe with very basic classrooms and under equipped resources for the students, there are currently no books and nowhere safe and dry to keep books. After visiting Musukwi Primary School, Heather was determined to make things better and was inspired to create the Walk for Literacy to bring hope, literacy and a brand new library for the Musukwi school community!
