Walk for Literacy – let’s build a library for kids in Zimbabwe

The Walk for Literacy aims to raise funds to build a library for the students of Musukwi Primary School. Earlier this year, Heather McCarthy, a librarian from Chicago, Illinois, visited Zimbabwe and saw firsthand the basic conditions that children face every day. This school is in one of the poorest regions of Zimbabwe, with very basic classrooms and under-equipped resources for students. There are currently no books and no safe, dry places to keep them. After visiting Musukwi Primary School, Heather was determined to make things better and was inspired to create the Walk for Literacy, which aims to bring hope, literacy, and a brand-new library to the Musukwi school community!
