Health and Nutrition are of Utmost Importance

Malnutrition, lack of clean water and poor sanitation are some of the leading causes of scholastic underachievement among rural children. Unfortunately many students attend school hungry and rely on water from unprotected wells and rivers. The TTI Foundation developed a School Nutrition program plan for its schools. Currently, in partnership with Rotary Club, TTI constructed a school canteen at Matau primary feeding over 1600 school children.

Clean Water & Sanitation

Together with the local governments and our partners, we have embarked on installation of solar-powered water boreholes (wells) for clean water for our 12 schools and communities

School Canteens

The TTI Foundation’s school breakfast and lunch program is part of an integrated response to end child hunger and under nutrition among school children. The Rotary Club of Salinas has generously donated $64,000 to equip the canteen, and we need your support to keep building this program.

School Nutritional Gardens

We work with each school to establish a school garden that supplies the school canteen with fresh vegetables. The school vegetable garden is irrigated by water from reliable water well. Local small-scale farmers provide corn and other produce in support of the nutrition program.
